On August 20, 1931, with the help of Magdalene Heiberg, county extension agent. A girls 4-H club was organized at the Irene Nye home. The club grew, and in 1948 became known as the Busy Butterflies.
Since 1948 there have been approximately 30 club and project leaders associated with the club. Many of the area youth have benefited from the 4-H experience led by these dedicated people.
Each year the club's booth at the County Fair at Jamestown is filled with many blue ribbons, some red and occasionally a white. Projects have included sewing, baking, leather-craft, embroidery, needle-point, photography and various others. |
